About Us (or me)

I was at a church retreat where I met the late Pastor Joseph Chean in 2023 where he shared how we are all given jigsaw puzzle pieces by God. Some of the pieces could be pieced together, making it much more clearer. These pieces don't just complete our own picture.

As we go through our day to day, we meet new people and as we share and testify in our daily walk sometimes our jigsaw pieces may fit in someone else's life! And ultimately these pieces form the bigger picture - His kingdom!

I was really touched by his sharing and decided to start a Christian art account. I chose digital illustrations which I have not done before, well simply because of how digitally connected we are and it's really the easiest way to encourage someone that I have never met before on the other side of the world.

Why SALTPEPPERHUMANS?

When I first started this account, I didn't know how to draw digital art and started with stickman figures. They look like little salt pepper shakers to me. It is also a hidden metaphor that we may be tiny but little by little adding flavour to the Earth using our talents and gifts!

A Work in Progress

I started with simple stickman drawings, drew consistently by observing the things that I see everyday and now have found my art style of this little girl character. I am trying to improve my craft and also learning through the process.

Everyone has their unique God-given talents and gifts. These are the tools God has given us to reach others. To share His love. To make disciples. To fish for people. But often, we hold them back. We wait until we feel ready. We are afraid to fail. We doubt if what we have is enough.

“Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Luke 5:4

You just need to let go and let God. Because obedience opens the door for Him to work, sometimes in ways we may never fully see. Don’t keep waiting for “perfect” conditions. Cast the net and He will take care of the rest.
